On May 19, 2024 , the emotion of Vertical Running will resonate again along the shores of Lake Como with the Vertical of Lake Como . This epic challenge, 4.7km long with a positive altitude difference of 1150 metres , promises to take trail running enthusiasts to new heights of performance and scenic beauty.
The departure takes place from the Aurora bar in Carate Urio , from which participants will embark on a journey through breathtaking views and enthralling paths. The initial asphalt soon gives way to steep mule tracks and stairways, leading runners through the Monti di Carate , an enchanting hamlet reachable only on foot or with small off-road vehicles.
With the route that climbs into the woods and crosses steep slopes, participants will be immersed in wild and uncontaminated nature. The views over Lake Como serve as a spectacular backdrop as athletes tackle the variations in terrain and gradient.
